At some point, I imagine I'll be able to update more than once a week.

But for now, here's what we've been up to.

Sleeping - he sleeps in a wool soaker (to keep him comfortable and reduce number of diaper changes at night) that looks like a petticoat under his nightgown.

 a little perspective on how he's grown - the pic above is at one week old, and below is 3 weeks old.

He is a pretty great sleeper for one month old. However, he only sleeps when he feels like it - on this night, I was exhausted and he clearly was not. He fights sleep - eyes wide open until all of a sudden he's completely out.

This was early one weekend morning when he was ready to be up for the day and his daddy wasn't. Guess who won?

His favorite place to sleep is wherever I am. He's a very snuggly sleeper.

On a morning walk - this was taken about a week ago, and is the last time this outfit fit him! Can't believe he's already growing out of things.

Trying to get him to look at something other than the inside of his stroller - not easy.

He shows he's hungry by trying to put his fingers in his mouth. Usually its the whole fist, but around 3 weeks (yes, this post is late) he started to sometimes get 1 or 2 fingers in. When he succeeds, he gets so confused and excited that he pulls them right back out.

Watching the saints with his daddy. Well, daddy was watching the game, B was watching the fan. 

In the past week...

 B loves tummy time. He has really good neck control and can pick his head up and turn it from side to side. He also really likes pulling his legs underneath them and pushing them back out again. We're convinced these are signs he's gifted. Obviously Ivy-bound.

 This is how he breaks out of any swaddle, no matter how tight. The boy needs to have his hands available for any situation that might present itself.

Above you see B on one of our morning walks. He is totally fascinated by the inside of his bassinet right now. I can only imagine how pumped he'll be when he realizes how much more there is to look at while being pushed around the neighborhood.

 Next morning's walk - this one spent thinking about eating when he gets back home. Notice the baby bird style open mouth.

 Like I said, he always has a plan about where his hands should be. Apparently during this nap it was very important they keep his nose in place.

This is one of my very favorites. He is looking at himself in the mirror and flirting. Clearly he agrees with his mommy that the baby in the mirror is the cutest baby ever.

These are his gigantic diapers and his tiny legs. Lolly calls these his surfer dude pants. Adorable.

Benet's Fan Club

Benet has had lots of visitors in his 12 days of life. His Lolly (helping to give him a bath here)...

 His Grammy and Grandpa...

 and his Aunt Stacey have all gotten to come and see the little bug so far. Plus lots more great friends, but we didn't get them all on camera. We'll try and get better at that.

And we'll end with a very small adorable foot.

 This is how B spends most of his time - napping on one of his parents. You can see what a little peanut he his.

 This is one of my favorite B faces. He stretches his neck back and purses his lips and I think he looks like a tiny turtle.

 Gracie checking him out. This is about all she does with him. She's adjusting well to sharing her parents.

 This little boy makes the funniest faces.

 B loves his hands. He likes to have them as close to his face and mouth as he can at all times. There was an early ultrasound that showed his hands in his mouth - we think he must have spent lots of time in the womb like this, because he can get them to his mouth remarkably well for a newborn. Clearly the first sign of a genius.

Again, so you can see what a peanut he is. He is one week old here.
